Windber Falls to Berlin, 28-0

In the clash at the Snyder of Berlin Sports Complex, the defensive units of Berlin Brothersvalley and Windber took the spotlight during the initial half of their Inter-County Conference showdown. The scoreboard remained untouched until the second half when the Mountaineers managed to break through Windber's defense, securing a convincing 28-0 victory.

Reflecting on Windber's defensive prowess, Berlin coach Doug Paul commended their solid fundamentals and positioning. He acknowledged Windber's resilience, emphasizing their disciplined approach to defense. In the first half, Berlin faced challenges in executing their offensive plays, prompting adjustments at halftime. These modifications, particularly upfront, proved effective, enabling the team to elevate their performance and demonstrate greater effort on the field.

Throughout the initial half, the only notable offensive drive occurred late in the first quarter, extending into the second. Berlin exhibited an impressive 79-yard march towards the 1-yard line. Unfortunately, a fumbled exchange disrupted their momentum, leading to Windber's Ryan Grohal recovering the ball. The turning point came in the third quarter when Berlin, following a Windber three-and-out, orchestrated a 77-yard drive encompassing 12 plays. A crucial highlight was a remarkable 33-yard connection from Pace Prosser to Cody Kimmel on a third-and-17 situation. Prosser sealed this impressive drive with a 9-yard touchdown run, effectively putting Berlin in the lead at 7-0, a momentum they carried through to secure the victory.
