The Windber boys varsity basketball team pulled off a thrilling comeback victory Tuesday night, overcoming a 16-point second-half deficit to defeat Conemaugh Township 41-35. With the win, the Ramblers advance to the District 5-2A championship game at UPJ this Thursday at 6:30 PM, where they will face top-seeded McConnellsburg.
Despite a slow start, Windber refused to back down, rallying in the second half behind strong performances from Logan Serenko, who led the team with 12 points, and Grady Klosky, who added 11. The Ramblers' defense locked in, shutting down Conemaugh Township's offense and chipping away at the deficit.
In the final moments, Conemaugh Township was forced to foul, sending Logan Serenko to the free-throw line, where he calmly knocked down 4-of-6 shots to maintain Windber's lead. CT responded with a clutch contested three-pointer to cut the lead to 37-35, but the Ramblers sealed the victory by sinking their final free throws to close out the game at 41-35.
With momentum on their side, the Ramblers now set their sights on McConnellsburg, hoping to bring home the district title.
