The Windber varsity baseball team came through in the clutch Tuesday evening, defeating Berlin Brothersvalley 6-4 in a hard-fought matchup. The Ramblers used timely hitting and solid defense to edge past the Mountaineers in a key late-season win.
A game-changing moment came when Lucas Rummel delivered a two-run triple, giving Windber the momentum it needed to pull ahead. Not long after, Dalton Strick added a triple of his own, driving in a run and later scoring twice to keep the pressure on Berlin.
Windber's offense stayed consistent throughout the game, with Dawson Himes and Lucas Oleksa each contributing an RBI to help cushion the lead. The Ramblers' defense held strong in the final innings, shutting down a late Berlin rally to preserve the win.
