Windber Baseball Sweeps North Star in Back-to-Back Wins

The Windber varsity baseball team picked up two big wins over North Star this week, defeating the Cougars 14-7 on May 6 and following it up with a 10-5 victory on May 7.

The May 6 game was a continuation of a contest suspended back on April 16. Windber picked up right where they left off, with Nathan Betcher driving in three key runs to help push the Ramblers past North Star. Lucas Rummel had a standout performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and scoring two runs. The Ramblers' offense was firing on all cylinders, as Mason Horner and Dawson Himes each added two RBIs to round out a strong team effort.

The following day, Windber kept the momentum going with a 10-5 win. Lucas Rummel came through with a clutch single that brought in three runs, while Mason Horner delivered two hits, including a double, and knocked in two RBIs. Dawson Himes added two hits and an RBI to continue the offensive surge.

On the mound, Logan Serenko was dominant, allowing just three runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over six innings pitched. His strong performance helped seal the series sweep for Windber.

With the two victories, the Ramblers gain valuable momentum heading into the final stretch of the regular season.
