Three Windber Track & Field Athletes Punch Tickets to PIAA State Championship

Three standout athletes from Windber are headed to the PIAA Track & Field State Championship after delivering exceptional performances at the District 5 meet.

Freshman Pacey Oyler made a big statement in her first postseason appearance, entering as the No. 3 seed in the pole vault and finishing tied for first with Bedford's top vaulter. Both athletes cleared an impressive 9 feet, 6 inches, securing a spot at states and showcasing poise well beyond her years.

Heather Carney also pulled off an exciting upset, taking home the district title in the triple jump with a leap of 34 feet, 6 inches. Her performance was both a personal best and a clutch moment that secured her trip to Shippensburg.

Completing the trio is Grady Klosky, who soared past the state qualifying standard in the long jump with a mark of 21 feet, 6 inches. His explosive jump solidified his place among Pennsylvania's best as he looks to make a strong showing at the state level.

The PIAA State Track & Field Championships will be held May 23–24 at Seth Grove Stadium on the campus of Shippensburg University. With momentum on their side, Windber's qualifiers are ready to represent their school on one of the biggest stages in high school athletics.
