The Windber Junior High baseball team rolled to a dominant 12-2 win over Penn Cambria on Monday, fueled by an explosive fourth inning and solid all-around play.
The Ramblers got on the board early in the bottom of the first after a Penn Cambria error and a bases-loaded walk brought in the game's first run by Colton Woodruff. Windber kept the pressure on with steady hitting and smart baserunning.
Serenko led the offense with a consistent performance at the plate, singling in the first, second, and fourth innings to help spark multiple rallies.
The big blow came in the fourth inning, when Windber erupted for eight runs. A mix of timely hitting and Penn Cambria miscues allowed the Ramblers to break the game wide open. Colton Woodruff drew a walk with the bases loaded to score a run, while Cheskiewicz grounded out to bring in a run and keep the momentum going.
