Windber Jr. High didn't waste much time making a statement, rolling past Rockwood 17–2 in a one-sided game.

After a slow start, Windber's bats came alive in the second inning and never cooled off. Hit after hit piled up, and strong pitching kept Rockwood from getting anything going.

By the end, it was all Windber—dominant at the plate, solid in the field, and in control from start to finish.
