The Windber Ramblers are celebrating a standout performance from senior Andrew Scalia, who recently joined the prestigious Century Club. In a thrilling game against Berlin, Scalia showcased his exceptional skills both on the mound and at the plate, leading the Ramblers to a 2-0 victory.
Scalia was in dominant form, taking a no-hitter into the seventh inning and striking out nine batters. His stellar pitching performance kept Berlin at bay, giving Windber the upper hand throughout the game. In addition to his prowess on the mound, Scalia reached a significant milestone by collecting his 100th career hit, further cementing his legacy at Windber.
The Ramblers' offense was bolstered by key contributions from Oleksa and Himes. Oleksa hit a solo home run, while Himes drove in another run, providing the necessary support to secure the win. With this victory, the Ramblers improved their record to 11-8.
Windber will close out their regular season at home this Friday against Northern Bedford. Congratulations once again to Andrew Scalia on his remarkable achievement, and best of luck to the Ramblers in their upcoming game!
