The Windber Junior High baseball team put on a powerhouse performance Tuesday evening, overwhelming Rockwood with a 28-0 shutout victory. The Ramblers wasted no time asserting their dominance, exploding for 15 runs in the first inning and never looking back.
The scoring started when Colton Woodruff singled, bringing in a run. Moments later, an error allowed two more runs to cross the plate. Stevie Slatcoff added to the early surge with an RBI single, while both Josh Scalia and Isaac Serenko drew bases-loaded walks to force in additional runs. The inning continued with clutch hits from Colton Blackburn, who singled to drive in two more, and Owen Blucas, who brought home another run. Windber capitalized on multiple Rockwood errors, scoring five more runs in the opening frame.
On the mound, Windber's pitching was just as dominant. Scalia was untouchable, allowing zero hits and zero runs over two innings while striking out four and walking none. His efficiency kept Rockwood from gaining any momentum, and the defense backed him up with solid play throughout the game.
The Ramblers continued to pile on the runs in the later innings, showcasing their offensive depth. Every player contributed to the lopsided win, making it a true team effort.
With the dominant win, Windber continues to build confidence and momentum as they push forward in their season.
